On Sunday, June 11, 2023, the seventh edition of the Youngtimers Rally, organized by AutoGids and Le Moniteur Automobile, took place. Under a radiant sun and on magnificent winding roads, we thoroughly enjoyed the pleasure of driving.
It had been a while since the last edition due to Covid-19, which forced us to take a break. But in early June, AutoGids and Le Moniteur Automobile were able to kick off a new edition of the Youngtimers Rally. Everyone was clearly excited because registrations went so smoothly that we had to work with a waiting list.
In the end, 170 cars lined up at the start for a route of nearly 300 kilometers, themed “Circuits from the Past.” The roadbook, prepared by Openroads.be, guided participants over the Circuit de Chimay and the Circuit de Gedinne, along the most beautiful roads in the region.
Where’s the party?
From 8 a.m., the first participants gathered at the Golden Lake Hotel in Froidchapelle, near the Lakes of Eau d’Heure. After a hearty breakfast and the inevitable briefing, cars of various types set course for the Abbey of Maredsous, where lunch would be served.
Around 4 p.m., the first cars arrived at the parking lot of the Golden Lake Hotel, where participants were treated to a four-star meal. Ideal for sharing experiences with other drivers because that’s what the Youngtimers Rally is all about: pure and unadulterated driving pleasure in the company of like-minded enthusiasts.
